The head of the PN delegation to the European Parliament has described the past five years in the parliament as an experience in consensus building.

Simon Busuttil told Ivan Camilleri in a short interview that since no party in the EP enjoyed a majority, doing politics centred on consensus building.

Despite Malta only having five MEPs in a parliament of over 700, Dr Busuttil insisted that individual MEPs could make a difference if they were preprepared to work hard.

He said that the people of Malta were going in for their second EP elections better informed of what the European Parliament did . It was significant, he said, that the European Parliament was among the institutions that was most trusted by the Maltese.
