Formula One teams expect to meet Max Mosley in the next 10 days after seeking urgent talks with the head of the governing body over what they see as unacceptable 2010 rules.

"Between (Ferrari president) Luca di Montezemolo and Max Mosley, they have more or less agreed to meet at least this week or early the week following," Toyota motorsport president John Howett told reporters at the Spanish GP.

The next race after Spain is the Monaco Grand Prix on May 24 and Mosley, who cancelled a planned appearance in Spain after his son died last week, is a resident in the Mediterranean principality.

The Formula One Teams Association (FOTA), of which Montezemolo is chairman, called for 'urgent consultations' with the International Automobile Federation (FIA) after a meeting in London last Wednesday.

The 2010 regulations published recently include an optional £40 million ($58.64 million) cost cap that would allow teams far greater freedom if they accept it than others staying with unlimited budgets.

Montezemolo has said the idea would create a two-tier Formula One that could be "fundamentally unfair and perhaps even biased" while Howett said on Saturday that Toyota would not enter the championship under such rules.

Howett, the FOTA chairman in Montezemolo's absence, had a lengthy and at times animated meeting with Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone in the Toyota motorhome yesterday along with Donald Mackenzie, co-founder of commercial rights holders CVC.

The teams had met earlier in the morning at the Circuit de Catalunya.
