Clint Grima has agreed a move to Italian club Lodi.

Clint Grima will link up with Serie B side Lodi this weekend, becoming the second Maltese player to secure a move to an Italian club after Michael Bartolo signed for Oltretorrente.

Lodi made their approach for Grima after he impressed their coaching staff during a trial last month. During his stay in Italy, Grima also travelled with the Lodi squad for their league matches in Turin.

Grima is regarded as one of Malta's brightest prospects in baseball. He was involved in all five of Malta's U-21 European Championship matches in 2006, held in Italy, and also played four matches for the senior national team in last year's European qualifiers in Antwerp.

During the Antwerp tournament, Grima topped the classification for most stolen bases.Grima and Bartolo will line up against each other for the first time in their career on June 13 when Lodi take on Ciemme-Maller Oltretorrente.
