EP candidate backs proposed extension of maternity, paternity leave
Labour EP candidate Joseph Cuschieri has backed calls in the European Parliament for workers to be granted 20 weeks of maternity leave or two weeks of paternity leave.
He pointed out in a statement that the European People'sParty, of which the PN forms part, had voted against the extensions, proposed in a report by a Socialist MEP.
The actions of the EPP were in sharp contrast to what was said about family values, Mr Cuschieri said, adding that as an MEP he would be backing such reforms.

Having back the VL days falling on weekends back would be beneficial to all especially those with a family.
Before being removed I used to spend these few days with my family and children so why we preach that we want to make good for the Maltese families.
Please don't tell me that these few days threatened or harmed the economy on the contrary removing them rather decreased people's output.
