Two men - a father and son - were injured this afternoon when a ceiling caved in at a private residence in Mater Boni Consiglii Street, Paola.

The accident happened at about 2.30 p.m.

People on the scene of the accident said the two had been working in the house and fell a height of one storey as a result of the cave-in.

The father, aged 59, appeared to be the most seriously injured, and was carried into an ambulance on a stretcher. His son had a bandaged head.
