The owner of a car dealership in Marsa has been given two years' probation after being found guilty of renting out rooms on top of his showroom to prostitutes.
The 48-year-old car dealer, Paul Camenzuli, admitted to renting out the rooms which have a separate entrance but which form part of the same block housing the large USA 1 showroom near the Marsa racecourse. In yesterday's sitting Mr Camenzuli pleaded guilty to allowing his property to be rented out to prostitutes.
The police were investigating another unrelated case when information about the rooms surfaced and the police called Mr Camenzuli in for questioning.
Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna took into consideration that Mr Camenzuli had a clean police record and cooperated with the police during their investigations.
Police Inspector Louise Calleja prosecuted.
Lawyers José Herrera and Veronique Dalli appeared for Mr Camenzuli.
