No objections to EP candidates' nominations

The Electoral Commission has not received any objections to nominations submitted by candidates for the European Parliament elections, a spokesman for the Electoral Commission said.

The time allowed for objections closed yesterday.

A total of 34 nominations were received between Saturday and Monday. The candidates represent 10 parties or groups.

They are: Alan Deidun, Alex Perici-Calascione, David Casa, Edward Demicoli, Frank Portelli, Marthese Portelli, Roberta Metsola Tedesco Triccas, Rudolph Cini, Simon Busuttil and Vince Farrugia, for the Nationalist Party;

Christian Zammit, Claudette Abela Baldacchino, Edward Scicluna, Glenn Bedingfield, John Attard Montalto, Joseph Cuschieri, Kirill Micallef Stafrace, Louis Grech, Maria Camilleri, Marlene Mizzi, Sharon Ellul Bonici and Steve Borg, for the Labour Party;

Arnold Cassola and Yvonne Ebejer Arqueros, for Alternattiva Demokratika.

John Spiteri, Josie Muscat and Malcolm Seychell, for Azzjoni Nazzjonali.

Mary Gauci for Libertas.

John Zammit for Alleanza Liberal-Demokratika Malta.

Nazzareno Bonnici representing tal-Ajkla.

Reuben Attard and Norman Lowell for Imperium Europa.

Emmy Bezzina for Alpha Liberali Demokratika.

Cecil Herbert Jones representing K.U.L. Ewropa.
