Last gasp goal sinks Chelsea
Barcelona snatched a place in the Champions League final in dramatic fashion on Wednesday when a last-gasp goal from Andres Iniesta earned a 1-1 draw with Chelsea and victory on away goals.
Barcelona will play holders Manchester United in the Rome final on May 27 after a stunning reversal of fortunes in the semi-final second leg.
Chelsea had been on their way to a second successive final against United thanks to a brilliant volley from Michael Essien in the ninth minute.
Barcelona had created few clear chances but they broke Chelsea hearts when Iniesta clattered in a shot from the edge of the box in the third minute of stoppage time.
Barcelona's Eric Abidal, who was sent off in the second half, will miss the final, as will Daniel Alves, who was booked.

It is about time that a level playing field is introduced in football. Not just as regards refereeing.
Top European clubs are buying success because they are rich and have money to burn. They can take away promising young players from poorer clubs with the lure of money, thus ensuring their continued success at the expense of other smaller clubs.
Some sort of handicap has got to be introduced to ensure equality.
In the major Eurpean leagues, honours are being won by the same very small number of teams. So, when somebody tells me that the Premier, Serie A or the Primera \re the most exciting leagues in the world, I always point out that they are prime examples of the "haves" versus the "have nots".
The Champioship winners Wolverhamton Wanderers are already thinking of strengthening their squad, not towin any honour, mind you, but just to try to retain their status. Wolves net worth as a club is Stg 30 million, much less than what a top player would fetch in transfer fees.
Modern football needs a Communist revolution !

It's true, the referee was totally lost and had a very bad game. But Chelsea shouldn't blame it all on him. They should have made sure of the result without the the ref's help but their football - as always - was too methodical, defensive and outright boring. For the neutrals, the final will be a much better spectacle with Barcelona playing Man United. And may the best team win.

Yes, the referee sank Chelsea. The blues played exceptionally...wonder who will sink this referee...he truly does not deserve to referee another important game, such as a semi-final. We should all say a big thank you for his incompetence. It would have been great to have Man Utd and Chelsea in the final...wow, what a final that would have been! Thanks once again ref!

The referee sank Chelsea. Chelsea had 3 clear penalties but I am very satisfied with the outstanding performance of Chelsea players. A very very poor performance from the referee that stopped another English Champions league final!!
