EU membership... Five years on

Malta's experience as a member of the EU to date has been a successful one. We have proven that EU membership is not just about a small country punching above its weight but about a small country that has access to the European Union in order to voice its concerns - whether national, local or sectoral. We now have to continue using our ability to ensure that this success keeps its momentum and that this translates into benefits felt in our everyday lives.

This is why I have chosen the slogan "fl-Interess Tieghek" for my campaign - I believe that the key to being a successful MEP is the willingness to address any issue that is of concern or interest to a Maltese citizen and to bring Malta to the forefront of any European issue. Which is why, if am elected to be your representative within the European Parliament top of my agenda will to continue working so that every Maltese and Gozitan will be able to benefit from a cleaner environment, more and better jobs, the best education and so that we can continue working to overcome the challenge of illegal immigration.

With the discussion of whether Malta should be in or out of the EU being finally over, the 2009-2014 European Parliament legislature should be about Malta's representatives having the ability of making their mark by getting themselves heard and bringing any issue that concerns us to the discussion table.
