The local general aviation community pays tribute to the late Paul Ripard Sr who was regarded as one of the key pioneers in local private flying in the Maltese islands for many years, apart from inspiring and training countless yachtsman!
Thanks to his initial efforts to overcome many aviation-related hurdles at the time, today we have a smoother system and he has mentored many private and professional pilots who are flying high today.
This air-to-air picture taken over St Paul's Bay shows Mr Ripard flying solo in his Piper Cherokee Six (9H-AAI) in formation with a Soccata Rallye 150ST (9H-AAY) flown by myself, on November 25, 1987.
