Man accused of mugging five women

David Gauci, 21,of Floriana, this morning pleaded not guilty in court to stealing a car, mugging five women,slightly injuring a 68-year-old woman and relapsing.

The cases all happened betweened between March 22 and May 2 this year.

He was remanded in custody.

Police Inspector Daniel Zammit told the court that the accused was under probation for drug problems, he was not alone in the theft, and other people were investigating. He said there had been no cooperation by the accused during the investigation.
