A Concert for Europe was recently organised by the Sliema Band Club at the University's Sir Temi Zammit Auditorium. The concert marked Malta's accession to the EU and Malta's first-ever performance of its national anthem in Brussels by the Sliema Band in 2003. Taking part in the concert were soprano Giuseppina Chirizzi and tenor Andrea Cesate Coronella, among others. The concert was under the patronage of President George Abela.
