Chiara not yet feeling Eurovision thrill
Chiara, Malta's representative in this year Eurovision Song Contest, has arrived in Moscow together with the rest of the Maltese delegation.
Moscow television crews, including the national TV station Channel One, greeted her for the first interview as soon as she walked out of the security gates.
The Maltese delegation left Malta on yesterday morning on a flight to Dusseldorf, Germany. They boarded the flight to Moscow in the afternoon.
Chiara greeted the crews with beaming smiles and remarked that she was not feeling the Eurovision thrill yet but was looking forward to start her rehearsals on stage.

I am disgusted with some commets published. Why should we stop one of the best singers on the island (if not the best at the moment) to represent us just because she represented Malta twice already and came out with flying colour. I think such comments will only show the childish mentality of the individual as we say in maltese ( tal-abatini biex naghtu cans lil kulhadd biex ma nibkux) Lets grow up and show support to one of the best ambassadors Malta ever had. Good Luck Chaira

Good Luck Chiara !! It is extremely difficult for you to pass on to the final stage with the voting system as it is. But you can still show Europe the great talent that you have and what Malta can offer. Come on Chiara...make them listen to your shivering voice and let the rest in God's hands.

Don't worry Chiara, the realistic few in the Maltese population have lost that Eurovision thrill years ago when we realized that this was just a political farce. Go out there and do your best thats all that matters. The end result does not really matter because we are know used to the voting joke time and time again. Forza Malta

Not sure about Malta song- but amazing singer. Like a prayer sung with Joseph Calleja - sent shivers down many spines.

A good suggestion. I can think of Natalie Gauci who visited Malta (courtesy of The Times) only recently. She is half Maltese and an outstanding artist. I am sure there will be many around the world, even full-blooded from both parents. The PBS could, at least for one year, give local artists a break and conduct a worldwide search for potentially eligible representatives. The PBS could then send out invitations and employ a suitable selection process.
But for now the focus is on Chiara. She is a tremendous vocalist and filled with enthusiasm. The only concern is that she could take it too hard upon herself if things did not go in accordance with her expectations. I think she should just take it easy and simply enjoy her new experience in Moscow, no matter the outcome. If things didn't go all too well, then she could worry about it a little bit once she returns safely to Malta and be once more with family and friends, and that little qrenpuca.
Good luck, Chiara. You are a sweet girl. All the very best.

Come now Malta give it a rest, twice close to winning is fantastic but third time lucky thats like asking Father Xmas to to do lap dancing, no chance. Its a young artist's game and i am afraid Chiara is just a little bit too old for this game, and loseing this time will be a shame yes, but also for the waste of money that hard wroking Maltese have contributed for this out of date contest among nations, its the turn of the Russians we all know that, why not let from past mistakes is beyond my way of doing things. Sorry there you are straight from the horses mouth.

I'm very glad that the new PBS committee invested in a lot of promotion through the internet. I just surfed quickly through the net and it seems that Chiara is very popular amongst eurovision fans. Even current betting odds at the eurovision scoreboard simulator of escnation.com are placing malta within the first 10 placings.

Please, Please, Please. A THIRD time for Chiara to represent Malta. NOT FAIR to any other singers on the Island. Why not get another singer from abroad with maltese heritage to sing in the contest. I'll give you a hint of what singer i'm talking about, BRITNEY SPEARS. If she does not win then you know Malta will NEVER come close to winning it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i.e. Britney's grandfather is Maltese.

Just to make sure for everyone that I said it before the Eurovision: Chiara should have given the chance to someone else... might as well someone else represents Malta since we are never going to win it. This is a waste of money which should be shared with other preforming arts / fine arts sector! if she does not win, all those who voted for her are loosers

On Xarabank she said that it is 'obvious' that she will go through the second round. Now if she doesn't, can we start thinking of some good excuse?

At the moment everybody is loving and playing her song, I bet you anything that in two weeks time at this precise moment during the EV post mortem and after Chiara will fail to reach the final we'll hear the usual excuses; neigbours, song wasn't good enough, proper promotion wasn't done etc etc.
