Fifteen people have been arrested following drug finds in three operations yesterday.
The first was at a farmhouse in the limits of Zejtun. The police said they were informed that heroin was hidden in this house, where a 43-year-old woman lived with a 48-year-old man, who was known to the police.
An intensive search which took a number of hours led to a five bags containing some 900 grammes of heroin which had been hidden in the external compartments of two fridges. Scales and several bags to be used for trafficking were also found.
The police said that the other finds were at two parties organised in Ta’ Qali during which 13 people, 11 men aged between 17 and 33, and two women - a 19-year-old Maltese and 23-year-old Bulgarian, were arrested.
They were found in possession of cocaine and ecstasy. All are to be arraigned accused of drug possession. One will also be accused of trafficking ecstasy.
