The Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa is to hold a Responsible Business Week between Monday and May 10. The activities planned are based on the three main criteria which are the basis of the resort's responsible business programme, namely health and safety, social and ethical values and the environment.
Various activities are planned throughout the week involving staff, in-house guests and local clients alike. The various events involve a clean-up day, cook and serve, fire fighting , first aid, tree and herb planting, water and air quality activities, blood donation and health check-ups, a car boot sale, hotel tour and a Park tal-Majjistral nature and history tour among others. The public is more than welcome to join and participate in any of these activities together with the various members of staff of Island Hotels Group and the volunteers who have already signed up for the events .
The public will also be able to benefit from a special rate during this Green weekend so that they can relax and stay at the resort while partaking in the activities.
The team of chefs at Essence Restaurant will be serving all diners a special menu made with local produce highlighting healthy eating and low carb diets. Raphael Cauchi, general manager of the resort said: "Our commitment to create a synergy between economic growth and environmental protection is reflected in the daily operations of our property.
Through this commitment we are actively contributing to the improvement of the local environment and to the country's sustainable development within the tourism industry.
We firmly believe that as a company we need to share our experiences and best practices with our employees and their families, guests, community and other organisations, whether big or small so they too can follow and contribute towards the welfare of our people and environment."
