April was second wettest since 1994
This month was the wettest April since1994 with 52.1mm of rainfall being recorded at Balzan, Malta Meteo, a private weather station, had reported.
It said most of this rainfall (39.3mm or 75%) fell between April 20 and 23. The average rainfall for April is 27.3mm.
In April 1994 Malta had seen 163.1mm of rainfall, much of it on the night of April 4-5 during a violent storm. That night gale force 9 had uprooted trees and houses were flooded.
Malta Meteo said this month was also relatively cool, with the mean monthly maximum temperature of 18.8°C being 1.2°C cooler than average. However, nights were slightly warmer than average with the mean monthly minimum temperature for April of 13.5°C being higher than average by 0.3°C. April 2009 was only the 6th coldest April since temperatures records began in Balzan in 1985.
The warmest day in April was on the 25th when the maximum temperature went up to 24.1°C. The coldest night was on the 3rd when the temperature went down to 10.4°C. The hottest ever April temperature was of 31.7°C on the 11th April 2008.

This is the third consecutive month with reduced average temperatures. The average global temperature has been falling since 2002. It is expected to keep on this trend for years to come, especially if the sun keeps on its present slumber of more than 600 days without sunspot activity. While the global warmist zealots are preaching an end-of-the-world-by-overheating religion, it could be that the sun has other plans for us. This winter saw record snows, low temperatures, near record polar ice and temperatures, etc.. Politicians are so eager to make us part with our monies in the form of carbon taxes, while scientists are preaching that anthropogenic global warming could be negligible, even non-existent. Some scientists claim that no matter how much we try, we can never really change the course of our planet's climate. According to global-warmimg theory, this year should have seen a very warm winter world-wide. Facts have proven the opposite, not only in Malta but all over the planet. Even the global average ocean temperatures are falling and do not auger well for the global warmists' reputation.
May I humbly recommend to Maltese scientists to follow mainstream climatologists' recent findings and their peer-reviewed scientific reports.
