KPMG has appointed three new associate directors, Charmaine Baldacchino and Kevin Mifsud within the audit function and Jan Grech within the advisory services function.

Ms Baldacchino joined KPMG in 1997 after obtaining BA (Hons) degree in accountancy. She is a registered auditor and a fellow of the Malta Institute of Accountants. She has worked in the financial services sector audit team since joining the firm and has been involved in advisory work to banking and fund management clients. She has also worked in the audit and regulatory advisory departments for KPMG practices in London, Ireland and Iceland. She is responsible for the local firm's audit and IFRS training and has been working on various KPMG International Quality Review programs across Europe.

Mr Grech originally joined the firm in 1999 and has over 20 years experience in IT. He holds a post-graduate diploma in management from Henley Management College and a practitioner certificate in project management from the APM Group. He provides advisory services to a wide range of clients and his primary focus is business process improvement and project management.

Mr Mifsud joined KPMG in 1998 after graduating Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) from the University of Malta. He is a registered auditor that is mainly responsible for the management of the firm's audit engagements in the fields of communications and software development. He has been involved in providing advisory and audit-related services to clients operating in these sectors and also worked for a short span at the firm's office in Ireland, where he was responsible for audit engagements on financial services.
