Obituary

BRINCAT. On April 25, at the Royal Brompton Hospital, UK, JOANNA née Mizzi, aged 35, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Raymond, her parents Carmen and Alfred, her parents-in-law Tessie and Charles, in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins in Malta and abroad. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. May she rest in peace.

BORDA. On April 24, at Mater Dei Hospital, LOUISE (Ġiġia) of Sliema, widow of Alfred, aged 99, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Monica and her husband Joseph Zammit, Catherine and her husband David Yost, and Sr Maria of the Medical Missionaries of Mary, her grandchildren Marcella and her husband John Muscat, Carlo, Aldo, Bianca and Sergio, and her great-grandson Nick, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9 a.m. for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Sacro Cuor) parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Medical Missionaries of Mary would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

DARMENIA. On April 25, at Zammit Clapp Hospital, ANNE, aged 92, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Harold and his wife Marstelle, Isabelle, Ray and his wife Marie, Adrian and his wife Josette, her daughter-in-law M'Anne, widow of her son Mario, her grandchildren Lisa and her husband Ryan, Josef, Sarah, Karen and Gabriel and her great-grandchildren Ella and Zack. The funeral leaves Zammit Clapp Hospital tomorrow at 8.45 a.m. for St Julians parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.15 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery (entrance from upper gate). No flowers by request but donations to the Holy Family Home, Naxxar, will be greatly appreciated. The family regrets it is unable to receive visitors at home. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

RIPARD. PAUL, 77 years, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital on the 25th. April, comforted by the Rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Dora nee Albanese, his children Ruth, Giselle, Pawlu, Christian and his wife Jackie, his devoted brother John and his wife Rosette and their children, his grandchildren Claire, Emilie, Ben, Sophie, Maria, Hannah and Rachel, his great grandson Kai, his in-laws May and Victor Portelli, Nanette and Joe Micallef, Tony and Indre and Terry Albanese, his cousins, relatives and countless sailing friends. A Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated at St John of the Cross parish church, Ta' Xbiex tomorrow at 9.30 a.m. The family wish to thank the staff of the MITU at Mater Dei Hospital for their constant care and dedication.

WILKINSON. On April 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, John Barry, aged 81, passed peacefully away. He will be sadly missed by his wife Barbara, Helen and Steven, Sally and Lloyd, Jan, Jill and Steph, grandchildren Richard, Catherine, Matthew and Jake, Vicky, Gemma, Nina, Kirk and Amy, great-grandchildren Megan and Maisie and all his family and friends in Malta and in the UK. A funeral service will take place on Friday at 3 p.m. at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery (from Sta Lucija side, back gate) and afterwards at Torri Mamo, Marsascala. No flowers by request but donations to Razzett tal-Ħbiberija in Marsascala will be greatly appreciated. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who cared for him at Mater Dei and Karin Grech Hospitals. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
