The Labour Party has called on the government to settle property contracts that have been dragging on for over 30 years.

Labour Party housing spokesman Roderick Galdes said several people lived in homes that had been given to them by the government through housing schemes in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

However, they could still not redeem the ground rent because the government had not paid compensation owed to the landowners.
