Viewers of the German TV station Sonnenklar TV have awarded the Suncrest Hotel in Qawra the Goldene Sonne 2009 Viewers' Award for its summer holiday packages and amenities.

The award was presented on behalf of the director of Frosch Touristik International, Dietmar Gunz, to the hotel's sales and marketing manager Ludgarda Schembri during the recent ITB fair in Berlin.

Ms Schembri was also interviewed by the TV station about Malta and the Suncrest, the island's largest four-star hotel.

"We are proud to have been given this award by the viewers of a TV station transmitting in one of our most important tourist markets," Ms Schembri said. "It will help us create more awareness about Malta and particularly the hotel."

Sonnenklar TV is a travel channel owned by Frosch Touristik International and Big Extra Sonnenklar TV. It broadcasts solely in Germany.
