Accused of defiling former partner's daughter
A 43-year-old man was yesterday charged with defiling the seven-year-old daughter of his former partner four months ago.
He is accused of defiling the girl in Marsascala last January, participating in sexual acts with her, violently indecently assaulting her, holding her against her will and relapsing.
The man from Valletta, who is not being named to protect the girl's identity, said he could not remember his age when asked by the court registrar. He eventually blurted it out after being assisted by Police Inspector Louise Calleja.
He pleaded not guilty.
During submissions on bail, the officer highlighted the fact that family members of the girl had still to testify and that three of the witnesses were minors and siblings of the girl.
Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna remanded him in custody.

His name is not being given in order to protect his identity...not the poor little girl.
The pervert needs to be named in order to protect other children
