Solar panels stolen
Two solar panels installed on directional signs along the diverion routes being used for the duration of the Marsascala Bypass project have been stolen, the Malta Transport Authority said.
The ADT said that the introduction of solar-panels attached to directional signs (picture above) was a relatively new concept in Malta aimed at assisting motorists during the night.
The ADT deplores such actions and urged commuters to report vandals.

Reminds me of the thief in England who was caught on the same camera he was trying to steal when it was attached to a computer connected o the internet and was being viewed and recorded by the owner who was at the office.

The Thieves would've been more popular if they'd nicked a couple of speed cameras- take 'em on holiday for for a few snaps!

@Brandon Camilleri Are you justifying this act? In the same argument, when the fuel price goes up and someone comes and steal the fuel from your car's fuel tank is it good?

I suppose the culprit or culprits will go for confession and their concience is cleared. What a mentality, how ignorant can one become!!!

@ Brandon Camilleri this doesn't show how badly off we are...it simply shows how pathetic some people are.

This type of theft which could result in the death or serious injury to a driver, passenger or pedestrian should be treated extremely seriously.

Seems like the government's eco-subsidy on solar panels wasn't enough !

If the people who stole these panels are a bit short of them, they can come to the U.K. We've got thousands of them!

Do we really beleive that all local citizens are living well? Do we really beleive that no one was hard-hit by the utility bills ? This really gathers the jist of the lcoal situation. Most probabbly ADt is paying a handful of money to rent these new signs. People cannot afford to buy any size of solar panels. And they are convenient to reduce the energy bill.
