During the devolution ceremony this morning, Lands Parliamentary Secretary Jason Azzopardi said that the government was giving the two councils more than 1.8 square kilometres of land at a much lower than commercial rental rate.

"... at a much lower than commercial rental rate." IS THIS A JOKE? This is public land, going to the use of public organisations for the benefit of the public. Why do they need to pay rent??? Come on dear Parliamentary Secretary, start giving the public land back to the public. One way is telling the public which land IS public and making this information available online. Let us be capable of knowing who's misusing government land, who's just put up a wall or a fence and made public land his. And finally Mr. PS, where is the illegal development / anti-squatter stand? Funnily enough it stopped. Have the powers that be said STOP?
