@ michael seychell. gonzipn won the last elections because many believed the blatant lies and half truths in the PN manifesto and many are now regretting having voted PN. that is why simon busuttil and the rest of gonzipn are afraid of losing the second seat.
and the recent goings on in parliament regarding amendments to election time procedures proves my point. gonzipn will stop at nothing to cling to power.

@Patrick Cilia. The situation at SVPR is very much like how Dr. Joseph Muscat depicted it. I'm sure about it because I was there. What maybe Joseph Muscat forgot to mention is, that during the voting, there was a PN guard watching a Labourite Nurse!!!

"People first" is an approporiate slogan for these elections. Perhaps Mr. Muscat would care to develop his theories for a new electoral process where some sectors of the Maltese public may be excluded while migrants will be included! A new concept and one that may interest the delegates in Toulouse. Just one other point: Was Dr. Muscat referring to the San Vincenz electoral process before 1987, when he claimed that many were "threatened"? I am a little confused now about the democratization principles which Mr. Muscat is alleging.

to eric saliba - very simple my friend - an NP supporter would stay away from the polls if he has the slightest grudge against his party or against a member of his party. Labour supporters have just lost the general election when they were so assured that they were winnig. Most of you are so thirsty to celebrate an election win, so you will go out in full to obtain three or maybe even the fourth seat in Europe, although you know that none of your candidates had voted for Europe, and most of them are euro-sceptics. I feel certain that upon winning the EU and probably also the Local Council elections, all LP supportters will go out hooting and carcading with all at home includiing the cats and dogs! Regarding Simon's and David's success in the EU, you can check the local and foreign papers, in the case of JM up to now he is only remembered for trying to withold millions of Liri coming to Malta from the EU - however even in this he has failed miserably. Whilst there, can he ask them why they want to give immigrants a vote? The PES seems more concerned with immigrants rights. I don't think the slogan they chose - the people first - is a good one. What people are they talking about, the people living in the country or the immigrants??

@eric Well said. One year after obtaining EU membership, the PN didnt even manage to win the election. Truth is, PN propaganda is now in full swing and they're trying to put some 'bzar fl-ghajnej' in order to obtain their second seat. For tangible results look at people like Louis Grech or Joseph Muscat (as MEP).

@ michael seychell. if simon busuttil & david casa did so well in the euro parliament why was simon himself quoted as saying that the PN has to fight hard to keep the second seat in the coming EP elections??

The only way Joe Muscat can make us proud is to use his friendship with Schults President of the Socialist group, who came to Malta to convince the LP delegates to vote for Muscat, and insisting with him that in future whenever there is a vote on immigrants problems, the Socialist must vote in favour of Malta, and not vote against us like they did on giving a vote to the migrants.
Simon has succeeded to convince the PPP group, let us see if Joe is at least as good as Simon and convince Socialist Schults.
There are rumours that Joe will not be smiling when addressing the Socialists, and others say that he intends to his veto if he does not convince the Soicialists, and he will continue to do so sparodically, in cowboy's style. .

Yes Joseph you gorgot to take Alex ST with you since he's the International secretary. Or is he still against the EU? And as a punishment you changed him with George Vella?

The European socialists did no help Malta on illegal immigration just as the popular party EPP. This time in the European elections the choice for all true Maltese is AN-Azzjoni Nazzjonali.
