ECACC conference to convene in Malta

The American Chamber of Commerce in Malta shall be hosting the European Council of American Chamber of Commerce for a conference in Malta between October 14 and 16.

Established in 1963, the ECACC serves as the European umbrella organisation for AmChams from 39 countries - representing the interests of more than 17,000 American and European companies employing 20 million workers. Originally comprised of mostly western European countries, ECACC has expanded rapidly over the past decade, and is playing a significant role in the emerging markets in eastern Europe and Eurasia.

AmCham Malta won an international bid among all ECACC members to organise this conference in Malta.

Also on the agenda of the new AmCham board is the organisation of an information seminar for Maltese companies interested in investing in the US and simultaneously tapping into President Barack Obama's $787 billion US stimulus package.

AmCham Malta has invited Sven Oelme, president and CEO of the European American Business Organisation to address this seminar and give an insight as to how Maltese companies could benefit from this historic opportunity.

The EABO is a consulting firm specialising in transatlantic business development. It offers a multitude of services such as market entry and expansion strategy, early stage venture funding, strategic partner research, international trade show planning and public relations strategies. This event shall take place on May 11 and further details shall be available shortly.

The newly elected officers of AmCham Malta for 2009-2010 are Anton Tabone, president, James Satariano, vice-president, Pierre Attard treasurer, Denis Gatt, secretary, and Alfred Cushieri and Marco Frazier, members.
