Malta's Olympic team beat their Tunisian counterparts 2-1 in a friendly match at the Ta' Qali training grounds yesterday.

After a goalless first half, Tunisia went ahead through Mohammed Ali Moncer but Malta turned the result in their favour with two goals by Karl Pulo on 60 and 90 minutes.

Coach Edwin Camilleri picked a squad made up entirely of U-21 players for the warm-up which was part of the Olympic team's preparations for the Mediterranean Games in Pescara, Italy.

Last month, the U-21 team played their first UEFA Championship qualifier and lost 0-2 at home to Slovenia. Before the Med. Games, between June 26 and July 5, Camilleri's team will play another qualifier, against Ukraine away on June 9.

Malta's starting formation: N. Vella, D. Pisani, S. Bonnici, S. Borg, J. Zerafa, J. Mintoff, B. Muscat, T. Farrugia, M. Ciantar, T. Vella, K. Pulo.
