Vandals have damaged a structure which houses clay throwing machines for clay pigeon shooting at Mizieb, the hunters' federation (FKNK) said.

The damage was caused over the weekend.

The Miżieb Hunting Reserve which has been managed by the Federation for Hunting and Conservation - Malta since 1986 is not enclosed, and when the hunting season is closed the area is open to the general public for picnics and barbeques, the federation said.

A report has been lodged with the police.

The federation had previously reported vandalism on trees and littering.
