Mellieħa Tigers player Erica Xerri Mallan has just reached a deal to play for Polizzi Generosa in the Italian Serie B.

This will be the second stint for the Tigers' captain to play for Polizzi Generosa after her debut in the Italian league last year where she left a very good impression.

She joins the Sicilian club next month and will play in second base.

Xerri Mallan, who practised with the Caserta team along with team-mate Ariana Schembri during a training camp in Malta in February, was also courting interest from Serie A1 team Macerata but she had to turn down their offer due to work commitments.
