Trial put off after accused fails to show up
The trial of a Tunisian man accused of attempted murder had to be put off this morning after the accused did not turn up.
Saleh Ali Missawi Ali Able Fetah, 33, had been on bail after having been accused of the attempted murder of another man at City Gate.
He is alleged to have hit the victim with a wine bottle. The accused had opted to have his case decided by judges, not a jury.
The trial was put off until the accused is found.

What a farce - how can a court system be so flawed that a defendant can stop the trial indefinitely by simply be a no show!

In this case, it is the guardian of the law who is at fault! Shame on him

Great stuff.
Tried for attempted murder, given the choice of trial by judge or by jury, handed bail and now he doesnt show up.
I also bet you this case has been open for a number of years....
The criminal law system obviously has many leaks.... which means more criminal activity is bound to happen.
