Muammar Gaddafi and illegal immigration
I saw that video clip referred to by Joseph P. Borg in his letter Muammar Gaddafi's Thoughts On Islamic Victory. Although it contains a number of inaccuracies, such as Albania being already in the European Union, the general tone taken by Col. Gaddafi should have many a European citizen feel shivers running down their spine. After watching the clip, it becomes ridiculously obvious why Libya adamantly refuses to cooperate with the EU on migration control, as opposed to such agreements elsewhere (such as between Morocco and Spain).
Now we have it straight from the horse's mouth what the real motive of unprecedented numbers of Africans crossing over to Europe in dangerous-looking boats is. In their vast majority they are Muslims and one cannot rule out that among them are extremists and others who are in some way linked to the world's most dangerous terrorist groups. It would simply be naïve at best, and irresponsible at worst, for authorities and NGOs to interpret such facts as mere scaremongering.
Col Gaddafi's statement is ample proof, if any were ever needed, of the way he views the illegal immigration phenomenon which is plaguing southern European states. He is abusing his "friendship" with Malta to use it as a bridge to reach his dream of a Muslim Europe. And guess what? Our island will be the first to capitulate.
Already as of now, we are being abandoned by our supposed EU ally.
It is every government's duty to ensure a better future for upcoming generations. Dismissing such blatant threats as a hoax is nothing short of failing the same duty.

@ Joseoh Dalli. What are you saying? Malta was used as a military base by the british and the only exploitation was the millions of English pounds that Britian pumped in these islands to bring us out of feudalism. If it wasnt for the poms, Napolean would have carted half the Maltese population to the guillotin and all the wealth to France so Napolean could pay his soldiers. If you read the history of Malta under the poms, you would see that we did not do too bad compared with what France did to its colonies.

You are totally misinformed.
How many cannons, paintings and other things were stolen by the British during their colonial period in Malta? How about the cannons in Londom that were stolen from Malta?

So Ms. Vella strikes again, as she does every day on the issue of migration. Re her inaccurate word of being 'christian', i tell you dear ms, maltese gem-gem, it's not a question of religion but a question of observing laws and fundamental freedoms, which to me you seem to be totally alien.

Joseph Dalli...The English didn't take (accumulate) the Maltese resources. The only thing they were interested in was obtaining the use of a strategically positioned land base for which they paid by way of employment and financing the airfields, Dockyard and its infrastructure. When they left they didn't take any Maltese property with them and the island was left in better condition than it is now. I'm not aware, also, that any Maltese were left "dying on the streets". I admire Malta and its people but don't blame the Brits for everything.

If any one can decipher what the good Colonel has in mind he should be awarded the psychic international award! This thing about mass Islamic export is far fetched for several reasons. 1)The people travelling the waterways to Main land Europe are Christians, Muslims and non believers. 2)The colonel have on his land a huge surplus of unwanted visitors whom he wish were on some one else’s door step because he has enough problems with unemployment, on the last count plus 15%! 3)He is using the excuse of porous borders to keep squeezing as much aid from previous masters and at the same time keep his oil industry well lubricated!

@ Joseoh Dalli Fair Trade?? 90 % of the raw materials used in Europe are from Africa. While Europe does not allow African countries to Export more than (1%) yes, one per cent from the total GDP. This figure does not include African Oil producers countries. On Friday, 14th December 2007 MEP Dr. John Attard Montalto wrote a factual article that may interest those who seriously wish to be aware of the core problem of Africa. Here I quote a paragraph - (The scramble for Africa has started all over again. In the colonial period, European nation-states competed between themselves. After World War II, the US permitted Europe to continue to dominate the continent, on the reckoning that the boost to the European economies would boost trade with the US itself.)…..with todays' language I would call this Economical Terrorism! As you can see, the immigrants issue is a European design and we are being victimized in between.

Islamisation of Europe may indeed be Gaddafi's 'hope' and might be driving him to drag his country's feet to stop illegal migrants leaving Libya. However, the reality is that the illegal immigrants undertake the perilous journey that they do primarily for the dream of a better life and not to spread Islam. I fear that the people who most complain about Europe losing its Christian heritage by their actions show that they do not care two hoots about anything Christian.

It all goes to show how naïve are all those who preach ‘Christian values’ to defend the influx of illegal immigrants.

I would leave crack pot conspiracy theories for those who care. Actually I have a different interpretation to Gaddafi's thoughts on Islam or Muslims in Europe in the light of two or three facts, both Gaddafi and Islam got nothing to do with.
Fact one: The average birth rate within western countries including the EU is down to about 1.5 children per woman.
Fact two: The number of Church goers is declining, adding to this the EU is based on NO-GOD constipation.

How about the following quattrains? Not that I really believe them but.....
1/29
Quand la poisson terrestre & aquatique (When the fish that travels over both land and sea)
Par forte vague au gravier sera mis (is cast upon the shore by a great wave)
Sa forme estrange sauve & horrifique (its shape foreign, smooth and frightful)
Par mer aux mure bien tost les enemis (From the sea the enemies soon reach the walls.)
Or 9/7
Dame a l'absence de son grand capitaine (The lady in the absence of her great master)
Sera priee d'amours du viceroi (will be begged for love by the viceroy)
Faincte promesse & malheurreuse estraine (Feigned promise and misfortune in love)
Entres les mains due grand Prince Barrois (in the hands of the great Prince of Bar)
Does it not fit exactly for Malta (first line, with Mintoff no longer at the helm) and the treachery perpetrated by the EU (Viceroy = Verheugen, second line) with their feigned promises (third line, already paying more than receiving) and suffering the illegal immigrants invasion at the hands of Barrot (from Barrois fourth line) who came to Malta a few weeks ago?

The Media often portrays illegal Immigration as crises that came out of the blue, however we rarely think about the relationship between Capitalism and 3rd World countries and its exploitative nature which results in continued underdevelopment. Although most former colonies have become self-governing countries, the rich countries still control the poor nations through their powerful economic position in World Trade. The profits of the Transnational Corporations in those countries do not benefit the poor country but are generated in the economy of the country where the mother company is situated. Illegal Immigration can be solved once and for all with Fair Trade. This does not mean that we should not safeguard our national interest first, we must and we should. However Malta also has a duty safeguard the World from the usual capitalist exploitation and excessive consumerist propaganda.
That's why they can't simply fight their way to justice.
At that time, there no Africa or America exploiting or oppressing us. We were exploiting and oppressing ourselves.
Malta was also a Colony, and like ex-colonies, the English accumulated our resources for herself, leaving the Maltese dieing on the streets.

@ Jonathan Fenech
Seconded and in full agreement.
slight reservation - maybe there may not be that many terrorosts there, but even one is too much.
It is also obvious that many of the immigrants are leaving countries which are not exactly poor. It's just that the wealth is not distributed fairly.
Europe was like this a few hundred years ago (or even less - see russia) so why don't these poor people simply fight their way to justice?

For the attention of their Graces the Bishops
From the Prophesies of Nostradamus
CENTURY I / 9
From the Orient will come the African heart
to trouble Hadrie and the heirs of Romulus.
Accompanied by the Libyan fleet
the temples of Malta and nearby islands shall be deserted.
Not that I believe in Nostradamus but interesting reading still!! :)

The Minister for Justice said some time ago to stop blaming Libya about the problem of illegal immingration. The video clip proves that Libya has a great interest in sending immigrants to Europe. Don't take Col Gaddafi as a fool. The Islamation of Europe is one of his "many dreams" and what was not achieved by force hundreds of years ago is happening now in a more subtle way. You take him to be a "dreamer" yet what he says in that video clip is actually happening. Take Italy as an example. The birth rate there by Italians is very low. That of immigrants is always on the increase. Think why Crosses and Christmas has been completely banned from schools in certain regions. This is not a question of being a racist or not but rather in trying to safegaurd our culture and our beliefs. Gaddafi wants to change that European culture. This is not an invention; this was stated by him and if one reads between the lines one can find what his intention is

I recommend a book titled:
EURABIA by Bat Ye'Or
This book explains why Europe is becoming anti-Christian, anti-Western, anti-American and anti-Semitic.
A VERY good read.

It is ridiculous to blame Libya for illegal immigrants. It is as if the mainland Europeans blame us for letting "our" llegal immigrants cross over to them! Of course they should do more to stop merchants of death selling derilict boats for huge sums of money so that these desperate people can cross over. This problem will only be solved when Africa becomes a normal place to live. Their corrupt leaders and Western aid continue to ferment chaos and desperation. They need education, skills technology and governments that help them rather than exploit them; this is still elusive. In the meantime the local Government has to protest loudly and use the VETO if nothing gives in, to protect our space and little resources. We can help and give a better life to a hundred or two, but if thousands continue crossing this way this better life could never be achieved. The Government should not accept that Malta becomes the main depot for Europe,s illegal immigrants. We are not expendable.

But their Graces the Bishops tell us that Christians and Muslims worship the same God. So why worry? Gaddafi in that speech declares that if Jesus had come after Mohammed (PBUH), then Jesus would have followed Mohammed and become a Muslim.
So there you have it, the two religions are two sides of the same coin.
