Contaminated cheese warning

Cheese lovers should steer clear of Solo Italia Gorgonzola packets of 150 grams due to the possible contamination with the bacterium Listeria.

The Department for Environmental Health said yesterday packets of the product stamped with a use-by-date of April 24, lot number 90572, should not be consumed.

Listeria monocytogenes is a type of bacterium often found in food and elsewhere in nature.

For more information contact the department on 2132 4093/2133 7333 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
