Melita plc yesterday filed a counter-protest against a former employee denying his claim that he had been unlawfully dismissed.
Former sales director Christopher Cachia filed a protest on April 6 alleging he had been made to leave the job in an inexplicable and abusive manner. He claimed he had been psychologically pressured into signing a letter of resignation.
However, the telecommunications company denied having dismissed Mr Cachia. On the contrary, the company said Mr Cachia had resigned of his own accord after he was confronted with complaints made against him.
The company added that Mr Cachia had been refunded premiums he had paid towards his health insurance and that any claims he had in connection with untaken holiday leave had been settled or would shortly be settled.
Lawyer Andrew Borg Cardona signed the protest.
