Foreign Minister for Middle East
Minister for Foreign Affairs Tonio Borg has left for the Middle East, where he will be visiting Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.
The ministry is hoping a double taxation agreement will be reached with Jordan and Lebanon with which Malta has a substantial amount of trade.
Officially, the ministry said the purpose of his visits was to improve relations with the three countries and reach a number of bilateral agreements on tax and crime, among others.
