Video: Amedeo Minghi in Malta to announce new concert

Popular Italian singer Amedeo Minghi was in Malta for a two hour visit this afternoon to announce a concert he will give at the Mediterranean conference Centre on May 15.

The concert will form part of celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the MCC.

Malta has been included in a tour which Minghi is currently making to mark his own fortieth anniversary on the music scene.

Minghi performed twice in Malta in 2006 and again in Gozo last year, and said feedback had been so good, he kept receiving invitations to return.

He promised that his new show in Malta would include several innovative aspects, including the new direction his career took when he starting turning poems by Frenchman Baudelaire to music. This will be the first time they will be performed after the debut at St Michel monastery in Normandy.

He will be joined by an Israeli and a Palestinian to sing Jerusalem to underline, he said, his strong belief that peace was achievable even in the Middle East.

Nine musicians will accompany him on some of his numbers.
