Medical folklore exhibition
The Medical School medical museum has set up a temporary exhibition on Pauline traditions and Maltese medical folklore. The exhibits may be viewed at the foyer of the Medical School, Mater Dei Hospital. The exhibition is open daily between 7.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
Global financial turmoil
Andreas Antoniou, professor of Economics and Econometrics and dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management at the Philips University in Cyprus will deliver a public lecture on April 21 at 6 p.m. in hall D1, Gateway Building, on the global financial turmoil and small states in the European Union.

Biomedical engineering, signal processing
The Faculty of Engineering's Department of Systems and Control Engineering is holding a series of talks on biomedical engineering and signal processing by Bart Vanrumste from the Biosciences and Technology department of K. H. Kempen University College in Geel, Belgium.
On April 21 from 10 to 11 a.m. in room EB 3, Engineering Building, he will speak about 'Detection of movement in patients with epilepsy during sleep', and from 11.05 to 12 p.m. in room EB 6, he will speak about 'EEG source localisation'.
On April 22 from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Engineering lecture theatre, he will address the topic 'A video system for the detection of pain in demented elderly'.

International GIS summer school
The University is holding an international summer school in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in collaboration with University College London (UCL). Participants will learn the concepts of geographic information, spatial analysis and map visualisation via lectures and hands-on sessions held for six hours a day over a period of five days at the University campus.
The content is suitable both for beginners and regular GIS users, and enable them to run a GIS project from data collection and integration of base mapping, through to analysis and queries.
