Two silver and two bronze medals were won by four young swimmers from Sliema ASC during the age group finals held in Reading yesterday evening.

The annual competition is organised by the Reading Swimming Club over the Easter weekend. Over 40 clubs from the South of England are taking part in this regional UK competition.

Sliema are being represented by 13 members from their club. Most of them registered personal bests during the opening two days of the meet.

The Sliema swimmers who won medals yesterday in their respective age groups were Pia Grech, 12, and Jack Tranter, 14, both silver, in the 200m and 100m breaststroke respectively.

Jasmine Borg, 12, and Andrew Cachia, 14, were the bronze medal winners in the 100m backstroke and 100m fly respectively.

The Reading meeting comes to a close today.
