Today, Malta champion Kim Cassar will contest the final of the ITF world ranking tournament for juniors, currently being played at the Marsa Sports Club.

This is the second successive year that Cassar has reached the final of this competition. In 2008, she was a losing finalist. On her way to the final, Cassar beat Morrill, Henderson and Hindmarsh, all of the UK, and Russia's Afanasyeva.

Cassar has decided to take time off from her academical studies to concentrate on tennis and this has definitely made a difference in her game as she has shown great improvement.

Before the tournament, Cassar's ITF ranking was 260 but is likely to improve by several places thanks to her showing at Marsa.

Today's final at Marsa starts at 1 p.m.
