Apple has opened the iTunes App Store to Malta.

“This is a significant development, especially for iPhone and iPod touch owners who want to download premium content,” said Gordon Zammit of Klikk Computers - authorised Apple resellers for Malta. “Many owners have been waiting for this moment for months and we’re so glad it’s finally here,” he continued.

So far, owners of these handheld devices weren’t able to legally download applications to add more functionality to their appliances. Some of the more technical owners found workarounds to get into the App Store through overseas addresses and other methods, but this was a cumbersome process and often they still couldn’t use their credit card to purchase applications or other content.

During all of next week Klikk Computers is organising Klikk-A-Mac Week at their newly refurbished showroom in Birkirkara. Apart from presenting the latest Apple products and accessories, staff will be offering free assistance to customers on using the App Store.
