Obituary
GRECH. On April 8, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, KAREN MARGARET, born in Scotland and residing at St Julians, aged 47, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Raymond, her children Kirsty and Gayle, her mother Margaret and her father William, her brother Gavin and his wife Jackie, her mother-in-law Annie, her sister-in-law Iris and her husband Raymond, her nephews Alan, Nathan, Scott and Ross, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital today at 2 p.m. for Our Lady of Victories Basilica, Senglea, where a service praesente cadavere will be held at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Guided tour
A guided tour on the historical, archaeological and cultural aspects of Rabat and Mdina will be held by Heritage Malta on April 19. Participants meet in Saqqajja Square, Rabat at 5.30 p.m. and tickets, which cost €20, must be bought beforehand from the national heritage organisation's head office in Merchants Street, Valletta. Paola bazaar
A bazaar in aid of the Paola parish church will be held at the parish centre in Church Avenue, Paola from Wednesday to April 22 from 9 a.m. to noon and from 4 to 8 p.m.

The collection from and delivery of nail from post codes 67010 to 67199 from L'Aquila, Italy has been temporarily stopped because of the earthquake that shook the province on Monday.
European funds
The University's Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering will benefit from the European Regional Development Fund under the Cohesion Policy Programme.
The two departments offer students a selection of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and the aim of the programme is to improve the country's research and development potential in the metallurgy and engineering design fields.
The programme, which lasts until next year, will benefit from about €5 million.
Sacred music
A choir from Germany will sing popular sacred and classical pieces on Easter Sunday at the Suncrest Hotel, Qawra, at 8.30 p.m.
Easter bonnet
An Easter bonnet parade organised by Dar Tal-Providenza will take place at Bay Street in St Julians on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Thai festival
The Thai community will be holding a festival to mark the Thai New Year between Sunday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Grand Hotel Excelsior, in Floriana.
