Arson suspected in Marsa cars blaze

The police are investigating a suspected arson attack on three cars, one belonging to a councillor, in the early hours yesterday.

Sources said the police were informed the Toyota Platz, the Citroen C15 and the Tata Indica, which all belonged to residents in the vicinity of Day Street, Marsa, where they were parked, were on fire at about 3 a.m.

No one was hurt.

Firemen were called to extinguish the flames and Magistrate Audrey Demicoli opened an inquiry.

The local council expressed solidarity with councillor Anthony Buhagiar.
