Obituary

GRECH. On March 31, in Mackay, Queensland, Australia, CHARLES PETER, aged 59, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss his dearest wife Pat and her family, his mother Grace, his sisters and their spouses, Margaret and Ray Agius, Judith and Eustace Agius, Carmen and Michael Fenech, Joyce and Franco Valletta, Lydia and Wilfrid Debattista, Janet and Henrik Piski and his sister-in-law Natalia Grech. His sad loss is deeply mourned by his nephews and nieces, Stephan and Tyuana, Greta, Kristian, Rudi, Francesco, Valentina, Jeremy, Christina, Luca, Federica, Francesca, Mathilde and all relatives and friends. May God grant him eternal rest.

Requiem Mass

Today being the eighth anniversary of the death of VICTOR PACE, the 6.30 p.m. Mass at Ta' l-Ibraġ parish church will be offered for the repose of his soul. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Concert tickets to be won

Vodafone customers can win tickets to the concert by the English techno group Underworld by sending a text message to 5091 2500, with an explanation as to why they deserve the tickets, by April 27.

The 100 most original answers will each receive two tickets to the concert, which is taking place on May 1 at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre in Ta' Qali.

Underworld is an English electronic group and is perhaps best known for Born Slippy, a track made popular in the Danny Boyle film Trainspotting.

Gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 4 a.m. Tickets are available from Vodafone, Exotique, Agenda and www.maltaticket.com.

Holy Week in Valletta

The Valletta local council, in collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority has published a leaflet listing Holy Week activities in Valletta.

Il-Kapitali... fil-Ġimgha Mqaddsa (The Capital... during Holy Week), which has been distributed to all households and businesses in Valletta, gives a full list of more than 30 activities being held this week including Passion plays, churches that will hold Maundy Thursday services and Holy Sepulchres as well as Holy Week exhibitions among them the Last Supper display at the oratory of the Blessed Sacrament at St Dominic church.

As an added attraction, all streets leading to places of worship and exhibitions will be lit with candles tomorrow.

Bank holiday

Monday is a bank holiday and all the banks will be closed for business.

LPG public consultation

The public can comment on codes of practice drawn up by the Malta Resources Authority on liquefied petroleum gas.

A copy of the codes of practice can be downloaded from www.mra.org.mt and comments can be sent to consultation@mra.org.mt.

The authority is also compiling a list of engineers qualified in LPG technology. Those interested in being listed can apply at www.mra.org.mt and must submit their curriculum vitae, engineering warrant and certificates.
