32-year-old singer Emanuel Balzan, also known as Tristan B, has been remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to defrauding the directors of RTS Ltd and Simsal Properties of 70,000 euros.

He was also charged with misappropriation, forging signatures on HSBC cheques and handling stolen property.

Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona took into consideration the seriousness of the charges before remanding Mr Balzan in custody.
