Employment statistics show that the number of full-time jobs increased by 2,217 in November when compared to the previous year while unemployment stood at 4.3 per cent.

Even if belated, the figures published yesterday by the National Statistics Office showed that the labour supply in November amounted to 152,017 people. Of these, 145,417 were employed on a full-time basis while the registered unemployed stood at 6,600.

The statistics also showed an increase of 1,558 in the number of people whose primary employment was a part-time job. In November, these went up to 27,410 from 25,852 a year before. The majority of these were women.

Those holding a part-time job in addition to their regular employment totalled 21,149, an increase of 559.
