The article and photos carried in the centre spread of The Times on April 1 - A (Note) Worthy Museum - were excellent. The writer noted that the museum was founded in 1997 and that it moved to its new seat in 2006.

What she failed to note was that the first curator and the person who so painstakingly researched and brought all the items together was Victor Tortell in consultation with those who could offer expert advice on how to exhibit items of historical value. This gentleman spent a lifetime working first with the National Bank of Malta, later Bank of Valletta, and he was able to bring all his knowledge of banking and his love for history to putting the Museum of Banking History together.
