Malta will host over 2,000 scientists from major pharmaceutical industries at the seventh world meeting on pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics and pharmaceutical technology to be held between March 8 and 11, 2010, by the International Association for Pharmaceutical Technology (APV) in collaboration with the Malta Pharmaceutical Association and the University's Department of Pharmacy.

The conference is being held in Malta at the ideal moment when the department is expanding its collaboration with the local pharmaceutical industry with special reference to pharmaceutical technology. The APV aims to help bridge the gap between fundamental academic research and industrial applications, offering an opportunity to initiate productive collaboration between university and industry.

The conference will discuss topics related to the pharmaceutical industry such as biopharmaceuticals, modern devices, modified oral release, nucleic acid design and delivery, process design and control and progress in solid dosage form development and manufacturing.

The meeting will enable scientists from all over the world to showcase their work through oral sessions and poster presentations, gain knowledge about new scientific findings and discuss their experience with colleagues.
