The winners of the Premju F'Ġieħ Francis Ebejer competition for Maltese playwrights received their certificates from Malta Council for Culture and the Arts chairman Adrian Mamo at a ceremony at the Mediterranean Conference Centre recently.

First prize in Category A for original scripts in Maltese was awarded to Simone Spiteri for her work Appuntamenti.

There were only two submissions in Category B for works which have been produced and the jury did not award the first prize in this category. Joe Friġġieri was awarded second prize for his play Caravaggio: L-Inkjesta, while Joseph Vella Bondin was awarded third prize for his play Awstralja which was produced by Bronk Productions.
