Maltese companies might soon have the opportunity to dip into multi-billion euro contracts in the European space industry.

Although there might be the perception that the billions invested in space technology are out of reach for Maltese companies, space transport projects actually form part of the aircraft industry.

The Malta Council for Science and Technology will help open the door to investment in outer space for Maltese companies during an information workshop on April 15. Guest speakers from French, Italian and German space agencies will speak about the wide range of technologies and services that can be provided by Maltese companies.

The project partners will identify and evaluate skills within the 12 EU new member states and target SMEs, microenterprises, research labs, institutes and universities.
