Now that a good cross-section of Maltese society and the bishops and clergy have expressed their outrage at some people's behaviour at the Nadur Carnival, I hope they will use the same passion and dedication to go after the vulgar and obscene behaviour that occurs during the morning band marches to 'honour' the saints whose feast is celebrated in our towns and villages.
The drunken orgies by half-naked young men and girls at these feasts are an affront to the Catholic faith much more than what happened at the Nadur Carnival.
The band marches in honour of St Cajetan in Ħamrun are particularly offensive to religious sensibilities.
