The Catholic Church today celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows with many devotees taking part in processions held in several localities all over Malta and Gozo.

The procession in Valletta organised by the Franciscan church is the oldest one in Malta and thousands flock to take part in it.

Participants included Archbishop Paul Cremona, who is expected to impart the Eucharistic blessing in front of St Paul’s Church towards the end of the procession, being led by Fr Marcello Ghirlando.
