Jade Goody was catapulted into the public eye after appearing on the hugely successful reality television show Big Brother several years ago.

Since then, she persevered to embrace a financially-driven media following by allowing cameras into her private life and provided enough entertainment in so doing. Love or loathe her, she, like any of us, perhaps, worked with what she was given. It is always sad to learn of a young death, especially when it's a mother leaving behind two young children.

Whatever your opinion of Jade as an individual, there can be no doubt that her two boys were her life.

Like most cancers, early diagnosis gives the best prognosis. Sadly for Jade, treatment was unsuccessful as the cancer had spread too aggressively through her young body. Rather than debate whether her knowing she would soon be dead is reason to publicise her last movements, with a view to providing for her sons in the only way she could, from the grave, perhaps as fellow human beings it would be kinder to simply say: Jade, rest in peace.
